Social media pressure... what a bit**. I mean... I love social media, that's why I'm on here... but when all see is a race to the top and probably 10 hours a day scrolling to "achieve your goals"... I mean... And I get sucked into the system too every so often. More often than I would like to!!! I had a little moan with my friend @yasminecamilla last night about how frustrated Instagram was making me.
And then, thankfully, at some point I remembered that my worth is not measured in likes. It's not measured in comments. It's not measured in reach or followers. Yeap, it sucks to get turned down for blogger gigs in favour of other people with "inflated" stats. Sucks big time. But... good for them ✌. Life is short. I'd rather spend 1 hour a day on Instagram and miss out on the gigs than 10 hours a day and get the gigs. Because what I would be missing out on is more valuable than the gig. .
Message to all bloggers out there, of any size and myself included: it's not a competition. You're not worth more because your numbers are worth more. Life is short. Do your best on this app. Show up, produce the best content you can, engage with those worthwhile engaging with, be inspired by your favorite accounts and then shut it down. There's a whole life waiting for you out there! 💕
